New Layout!

At last, the launch of the brand new layout here at Gerard Way Fan. What do you guys think? Thanks to Anula at Addicted Designs for the gorgeous new look! I’m still working on the pages and content, but this is (hopefully) going to be the start of a big revamp here at GWF in preparation for the 4th album – I can’t wait!

EDIT: The transfer from the old layout to new is finally complete! If you do come across any errors, please let me know in the comments. I am also -as ever- looking for fanart donations, icons, wallpapers, drawings, anything! If you wish to donate something to the site, please feel free :) I want this site to be the biggest and best Gerard/MCR site possible!

MTV Musical March Madness: 30STM vs. MCR

It’s Musical March Madness! The sprawling bracket — both a parody and a tribute to the NCAA basketball tournament, masterminded by MTV News’ James Montgomery — takes the 65 biggest names in rock, splits them up into four regions, assigns them seeds and puts them up against one another in a single-elimination series of match-ups in a winner-take-all contest. We’re leaving it to you to decide an actual champ in this field of 65. Over the next few weeks, we will present a series of polls that will allow you to vote for the match-ups presented in MTV News’ Band Bracketology. You vote for the winners, we’ll keep advancing the seeds and, in the end, we’ll have some sort of champion. What will the winner receive? Little more than our esteem (as well as that of the fans) and some Internet bragging rights.

(5) My Chemical Romance vs. (9) 30 Seconds to Mars
30 Seconds to Mars dispatched of the last top-seeded group during the second round as they knocked off Blink-182. My Chemical Romance faced a tight race from Pearl Jam, but ultimately overcame the surge from the grunge veterans. Now only one can stand along and advance to the regional finals against the winner of the Panic! at the Disco tilt. Who moves on?

Blog: Update from Mikey

Greetings Friends!

It’s been an awfully long time since last we spoke, and I apologize. To make it up to you, I have many exciting things to share. You have all been so patient, and for that we are eternally grateful.

First things first, here are some new studio shots from our own ace photographer (and soon to be dad!), Frank Iero. We have reached a very exciting final phase of recording and are counting down the seconds to when we can finally share it with you. The album has a name and a voice, although I can’t let that rabbit out of the hat just yet. I wish it were humanly possible for us to sit down with all of you and crank up those speakers on launch day.

The newest songs that we have written changed my perception of what a My Chemical Romance song can do. It pushes every envelope and blurs every single line more than anything we have ever done. I am also excited to finally announce that in the very near future, there will be an official home for the MCRMY on the web. We have all gotten a chance to field test the website, and not only is it major fun, but it’s also kind of addictive.

In the next few weeks we are also going to start running a series of contests that will be a ton of fun for all of us. I know I have a one or two shirts with my name on them that could use a new home to give up for prizing.

Last but not least, In the newest issue of SPIN magazine, there’s an amazing article/cover featuring our fearless leader (and my big brother) Gerard Way. Iggy has been one of our heroes and inspirations throughout our career and the article is a joy to read.

There are gonna be a great many changes coming to mychemicalromance.com over the next few weeks/months. One day you will wake up, and nothing will ever be the same again, but it’ll feel like an old friend. We love you guys more than you’ll ever know. Let’s talk again soon.

Mikey
