A message from My Chemical Romance

We have recently learned of the suicide and tragic loss of Hannah Bond. We’d like to send our condolences to her family during this time of mourning. Our hearts and thoughts are with them.

My Chemical Romance are and always have been vocally anti-violence and anti-suicide. As a band, we have always made it one of our missions through our actions to provide comfort, support, and solace to our fans. The message and theme of our album “The Black Parade” is hope and courage. Our lyrics are about finding the strength to keep living through pain and hard times. The last song on our album states: “I am not afraid to keep on living” – a sentiment that embodies the band’s position on hardships we all face as human beings. If you or anyone that you know have feelings of depression or suicide, we urge you to find your way and your voice to deal with these feelings positively.

SURS

Here’s a video of Gerard, Mikey, and Frank on Steven’s Untitled Rock Show. It’s terrible quality, but it’s all we got for now.

Thanks to Joyce for sending me this Buzznet screen cap of the show:

If any better videos pop up, I’ll post again.

Protest

Mkay, so there seems to be a bit of backlash about the protest just to make you guys aware if anyone’s going.

Someone brought up the point of 900 (yes, participants now range at over 900) kids, wearing hoodies that say “DEAD!” on the front, marching down the street to The Daily Mail. People are urging the leaders to help focus on the fact that a 13-year-old girl is dead because of depression/suicide, perhaps bringing in a charity to help promote that cause. Yes, we’re pissed My Chemical Romance is being blamed, and yes I agree something needs to be done, but let’s not forget there is a 13-year-old girl who is lying in a coffin right now because her parents didn’t think a damn thing about her slitting her wrists. Do not forget why you are marching. Yes, My Chemical Romance is getting the short end of the stick, and yes we’re upset and we’re sick of this bull, and My Chemical Romance saves lives, but please, I beg of you, please remember that poor girl and every human being that have lost their lives by their own hands.

Long time no chat, yeah? Yeah. A little bit of catch-up. Sorry if things are a wee bit out of order!

Buzznet is covering Peta2’s Sexiest Vegetarian contest with the cutest picture of Frank. Click here to read the story. Make sure to vote for Frank.

My Chemical Romance fans will be marching 300 strong in the London protest against The Daily Mail for pinning the band as the ’suicide cult’ responsible for 13-year-old Hannah Bond’s suicide. Click here to view the article.

Got this email and figured it was worth posting here as well.
We’re part of the italian MCRmy, and we’ve started a project to help My Chemical Romance. You must know that My Chemical Romance are being blamed for the young Hannah Bond’s suicide.
We’ve created this blog, MCR Saved My Life. This project includes a letter and a petition for all the main newspapers, and a blog where we’ll put the fans’ stories, about how My Chemical Romance saved their lives.

The Daily Mail has posted yet another article about 13-year-old Hannah Bond whose suicide is being blamed on My Chemical Romance. Why on earth did their daughter — a popular, intelligent and attractive girl — do such a thing? They could find only one clue: Hannah was what is known as an “emo”. Milking the public much? The parents just don’t want to take any blame in that they were ignoring the fact their daughter was also a depressed cutter. If cutting isn’t a cry for help (and then having a conversation with your parents about it?), then I don’t know what is. (Soapbox coming soon with Celyn’s permission)

LJ user yekith was so disappointed in not being able to attend My Chemical Romance’s show at Madison Square Garden that she hunted down the entire set on YouTube. Don’t believe me? Check this out on SendSpace. The YouTube user that recorded the clip is noted so credit goes to them. Think of it as the live DVD before the DVD. Lots of love to yekith!

Old or new news? Bob was interviewed by Modern Drummer. It’s definitely worth a read. Click here to read the interview.
For Bob Bryar, joining My Chemical Romance wasn’t just a life-changing decision—it was a life-saving decision. Since signing on as the drummer of the New Jersey–based pop-punk band in 2004, Bryar has shed a remarkable one hundred and twenty pounds. A better diet, coupled with a boost in self-esteem and the calories burned with every headlining show, rehearsal, and recording session, helped the one-time three-hundred-pound tour manager and soundman get in shape not only physically, but also mentally.

Speaking of Bob, here’s a video I found surfing. When asked about his first kiss, Frank immediately gets the bright idea to pin Bob.

Here’s a video interview of Billy Talent with a bit of My Chemical Romance thrown in for kicks. I haven’t seen it yet, so don’t spoil it for me XD Thanks Racha!
