Huge thanks to the lovely Erin who sent me a huge email of Gerard’s artwork! We’ve now got over 5,000 images in the gallery
I’ve started uploading them, so that’s something shiny and new to keep you guys going. Keep sending them in!
And now, a request. I hate asking you guys for anything, but I am really looking for image accounts in order to really beef up the gallery. I don’t have any myself to trade, but I am willing to make any layouts, coppermine themes if anyone was interested? I am a sucker for HQ pictures, so please, if you’re willing to trade me some logins, please email me!

I’ve finally managed to make a new layout up at the gallery – please tell me what you think! I absolutely suck at customizing Coppermine, but I think it looks pretty summery
As you will be able to see, I’ve started to add videos to the new media archive – currently I’ve just moved all the music videos there, but I’m starting to add/rip lots of interviews etc – if you have a personal favourite you want everyone to be able to download, feel free to comment and I’ll see what I can do
I also added a few magazine scans from 2007 from my own collection – I need to start buying magazines again! Also, thank you to everyone for the nice comments, it really makes all the effort put into this site worth it
Oh! and finally, a request – if anyone has any HQ/decent quality pictures of Gerard’s artwork, please get in touch! I’m on about anything – doodles, paintings, old stuff, Breakfast Monkey stuff, Umbrella Academy stuff, anything art-related, it’s all for a new category in the gallery! Thanks!

First off, I have a favor to ask. My friend Jenny and I are doing a fan documentary on My Chemical Romance and we need you all to submit videos (or letters) or anything you may have. Now, I don’t want stuff on MCR! I want YOU! Specifically a video or something expressing what My Chemical Romance means to you, how they have affected you, stuff like that. We’re basically trying to get people to see the side of My Chemical Romance that the general public doesn’t see because they’re blinded by their own prejudices. All the information and my contact information can be found here.
Reviews/Articles:
- “Packed Rialto Finds True Romance” – Arizona Star, Rialto Theatre. Saturday night at the Rialto Theatre, My Chemical Romance featured a bassist, two guitarists, a drummer, a keyboardist and some 1,400 singers.
- Snippet of stuff from Las Vegas. Basically who hung out with who and did what when.
- Rolling Stone is as full of sarcasm as ever. Normally a preppy college town baked in desert heat, Tempe, Arizona was bathed in darkness Friday night thanks to the black-clad denizens who descended upon Tempe Beach Park for My Chemical Romance’s tour kickoff.
- Polarizers: To Know Them Is To Love Them Or Hate Them. THERE ARE few modern rock bands as divisive as My Chemical Romance, but no matter what you think of the band’s Thursday-cum-Queen emo-pomp bombast, 1 million My Chemical Romance fans can’t be wrong. The same could be said for the 1 million MCR haters.
- Holy Crap! A review + awesome graphics? My Chemical Romance at The Joint. More reviews need to look like this. Amidst a sea of shrieking and frenetic fans, MCR became THE rock n roll venue-shaking machine with lead vocalist, Gerard Way commandeering the band with his ultra-visual stage presence that in itself was a pure theatrical and dramatic spectacle.
- Apparently MCR was one of the few acts worth remembering at Bamboozle Left. Another article on the same thing here by MTV.
- Another little snippet on Billy Talent who knew that playing with My Chemical Romance was the opportunity of a lifetime.
Another lovely human has stumbled across The Umbrella Academy and thoroughly enjoyed it. yet another “well done” to Gerard, Gabriel, and the team!
Photos from Gerard’s comic signing in Porland have been posted thanks to the store. Snippet on the Portland comic book signing. Another little snippet written by a fan about the signing with photos.
A little something random, but Mike Shinoda goes on and tells everyone that Gerard was a forgetful jerk when it came down to submitting his art for the Projekt Revolution art book. It’s really funny, and Mike just has an awesome way of telling stories. <3 Mike!
Alright so I have officially spent about four hours doing this update (including gallery uploads and fishing out spam comments). I know, it’s a little ‘catch all’ like some tend to be, but some of those articles really are good.

So to the left you can see the cover for My Chemical Romance’s forthcoming CD/DVD release, The Black Parade Is Dead!. A little cultural lesson for you: that is a traditional setup in Mexico to honor the deceased on a Mexican holiday called “Day of the Dead”, or “El Día de los Muertos” in Spanish. Beautiful, beautiful, if I might say so myself. Click on that photo on the left for a huge, unresized photo. It’s 1602 pixels by 1431 pixels and 322kb. I’ve forgotten who uploaded that original image, but to whoever you are, thank you!
Photos: Check out these photos from The Joint in Las Vegas on 3/31/2008. Also, our beloved friend Shell has uploaded some really awesome HQ photos of one of the recent shows. Really awesome pictures of San Fran were taken by a lovely lady named Alicia which you can find at her photography website here.
We cordially invite you to stop by our Portland Store on Tuesday April, 8th from 4-6 P.M. to get your comic book signed, take a picture or just chat with one of the coolest dudes you’ll ever meet.

If you want to download scans of The Big Cheese magazine scans (interview with Ray), click here (Mediafire). I’ll get them unzipped and see if I have permission to add them to the gallery. Thanks to LJ’s ebonylox
Gerard got a little bit of a sarcastic mention at Rolling Stone. Check the first single featuring Patrick Stump. Sorry, but I don’t get the joke. I do, however, get that Rolling Stone doesn’t take My Chemical Romance very seriously (c’mon…the fake cover? seriously…)
Here’s a review and photos of My Chemical Romance in Tempe on Friday. The picture of Gerard in the top right is fairly adorable, too (see right).
The energy didn’t quit, and the band immediately threw out This Is How I Disappear. Guitarist Ray Toro scorched in his corner throughout the show, looking like a mix of Slash and Claudio Sanchez with his blanket of curly hair.
And some press from the Las Vegas Sun in regards to the My Chemical Romance gig at The Joint. However, the picture they use of the band is so four years ago. No, I’m not kidding. Ya know, if you can actually see the thing because it’s so small.
The movie Punk’s Not Dead which came out last summer including interviews with Green Day, My Chemical Romance (Frank), Story of the Year, Social Distortion, Minor Threat, Black Flag, Anti-Flag, Alkaline Trio, The Ramones, The Offspring, blah, blah, blah, and about a million other bands will be out on DVD on April 14th. View a 17 second clip of Frank here.
“The Umbrella Academy” is being released as a series with a bonus sketchbook. Click here to preorder. Otherwise, it comes out in July.
The Wave Magazine interviews Gerard. It’s an absolutely phenomenal interview, so please read.
…if you’ve never been to the edge and stared into it, you’re never gonna become a better human being, I don’t think. And it’s facing that stuff that makes you a good person to other people – it makes you good to yourself, it makes you smarter, it makes you faster, it makes you better. Out of all these tragedies, you’re born as something better, so I think that staring into the abyss is one of the things that the band does really well.
Arizona Republic interviews Ray.
Of course we have thought about [the new record not living up to people's expectations] many times, like most bands do after they have a successful record, but we are going to keep doing what we do and making music that feels right.
Frank’s side project (one of million) Skeleton Crew has launched a new website and online store. Rumor has it that Leathermouth will be taking preorders for their debut CD soon.
A sort of degrading yet pretty funny look into My Chemical Romance’s future. Apparently they will break up in 2014 and reunite in 2024. Oh, and Bob and Ray fight over which one of them is Frank’s biological father. No, I’m not kidding. Go read that article. Oh, the fan fiction…ya know, even if Toro and Bob would have been, ya know, toddlers…

Totally hope that update was worth the wait. Cheers to Celyn for getting the site up in time for Gerard’s 31st birthday. Hope the hole in his pants continues to grow and that face forever immortal (I mean, for the love of cats, that man is aging backwards, I swear it!). And, I’ve had entirely too much caffeine (Kathleen would be ashamed of me!) and will be up quite some time longer. Updates might get a little weird. My classes for college are from 5pm-9pm and labs 9pm-1am. So expect weirdness in the updates due to too much caffeine.
P.S. My school is the third largest vendor of Mountain Dew in the state of Florida. Does that tell you anything?
